Sutliff Tobacco Company Old San Francisco

Old San Francisco, part of Sutliff's Private Stock line, is prepared as an unflavored medium English mixture. Latakia and a small amount of perique are added to a Virginia and burley base; fire-cured burley gives the blend a nutty body, while the perique leaves a light pepper note in the background. The latakia carries the smoky side but doesn't overpower the mixture; in that sense it counts as a more measured take on heavier latakia blends. The leaf comes dry out of the tin and keeps its burn going through the bowl.
