Sutliff Tobacco Company TS1Y Yellow Virginia Pipe Tobacco

TS1Y Yellow Virginia is a member of Sutliff's straight-leaf series. It contains only bright yellow, top-grade Virginia leaf; no flavoring whatsoever is applied. Because bright Virginia's natural sugar content is high, the tobacco gives an unsmoked sweetness, a light citrus tartness, and a hay-like dryness. The cut is ribbon, making it easy both to smoke alone and to blend in measured amounts. The blend is meaningful for two kinds of readers. Second, those building their own blends who need a sweet base leaf. Nicotine is medium-light, but like all bright Virginias it tends toward tongue bite when smoked fast, so it should be kept dry and not puffed hard. Records show Sutliff was founded in 1849 and is today an American company producing in Richmond, Virginia.
