Wilke Pipe Tobacco Black Raspberry

Black Raspberry is a plain record among Wilke Pipe Tobacco's single-note aromatics: a raspberry-based casing applied to black cavendish leaf. The brand has kept fruity, sweet-cased bulk tobaccos in its catalog since 1872; this blend is a straightforwardly fruit-focused member of that line. Black cavendish, with its sweet, soft base, provides a neutral foundation to carry the fruit casing; nicotine is low and the burn is cool. The raspberry note is clearly felt both in the tin and in the smoke, and it largely defines the blend's character.
