Blend
House of Windsor Barking Dog
Barking Dog is considered one of the typical examples of American-style English mixtures. Cube-cut Burley forms the body of the blend; smoky Latakia and a small amount of light-colored Virginia are added to it. The cube-cut Burley burns slowly and gives a nutty, dry taste, while the Latakia stands only as a smoke layer; because of this, the blend sits in the medium range of English mixtures rather than the heavy end. The blend was produced by House of Windsor during the period in the second half of the twentieth century when over-the-counter (OTC) tobaccos were common in America. Since House of Windsor ceased operations, the original product is no longer made; match blends prepared by different makers exist.
