McClelland Royal Cajun Special

Royal Cajun Special is the lightest member of McClelland's series built on the Cajun Black component. The mixture combines two separate stoved Virginias with a tangy-sweet, lemon-yellow Virginia leaf and the smoky, sharp-character Cajun Black. Cajun Black is a component made by smoking Virginia-seed leaf and then fermenting it in a barrel in the Perique manner. In the smoke, Virginia's bright, citrusy tang dominates; Cajun Black adds a woody, smoky layer on top. McClelland stopped production in 2018.
