McClelland Tudor Castle

Tudor Castle is one of McClelland's Virginia-forward flake blends. High-sugar bright Virginia and red Virginia are joined by top-quality Yenidje Oriental and Louisiana-sourced St. James Perique. The maker closed in 2018, so the blend is no longer produced. After a brief drying, the crumbled flake burns slow and cool; the Virginias' cola-and-sweet-tea-like sweetness is joined by the Oriental's salty-tangy edge and Perique's occasional peppery, ginger-like spice. Records indicate the blend was designed for cellar aging.
