Missouri Meerschaum Luminaire

Luminaire is an unflavored blend built from red virginia, cavendish, Katerini oriental, and St. James perique, pressed into flake form. It is produced by Cornell & Diehl for Missouri Meerschaum, and takes its name from the illumination that came when Anton Tibbe installed the first electric power plant in the town of Washington on New Year's Day 1892. The flakes rub out easily and can be smoked at the moisture level they come in from the tin. The taste profile is described in terms of woody and leathery tones, light spice, and dark fruit; the tangy sharpness from the perique balances the virginia sweetness.
