2-14 is a pressed blend L.J. Peretti offers in coin form. Per the maker's recipe, Virginia leaf seasoned with perique is wrapped around a core of medium-mellow black cavendish, then sliced into rolled discs. It carries a light flavoring, which places it in an intermediate territory rounded off by the cavendish rather than reading as an unflavored Virginia/perique blend. Perique adds a plum-and-spice depth to Virginia's lemony sweetness, while the cavendish core cools the burn. Because of the coin form, the slices need to be rubbed out or lightly dried before packing. Records indicate it's among the blends prepared in limited numbers.
