Blend D-9507 is one of the old formulas drawn from L.J. Peretti's alphabetically ordered blend ledgers, from ledger 'D,' and is still produced to the same recipe today. Per the maker's own description, the body is formed by fire-cured Cavendish; a small amount of Perique and a soft Turkish tobacco obtained from top leaves called Dubeck are added. This composition keeps the smoke mild while giving a measured sweetness and a pronounced sharpness. Although it is listed among English mixtures in the shop's catalog, no information is given about it containing Latakia; its character sits in a separate line formed by smoky-scented leaf and Perique rather than classic Latakia blends.
