Royal is a mixture Peretti offers under its English-type heading, but built on oriental leaf rather than latakia. Per the maker's description, matured Virginia is combined with select oriental tobaccos, with a high proportion of Yenice leaf used in the blend. Yenice sits at the sweeter, more floral end of the oriental group, so the mixture carries a spicy mellowness rather than sharpness. With no smoky component, the profile differs markedly from latakia-heavy English blends. The ribbon cut and medium moisture level allow it to be packed straight from the tin.
