Rattray Malcolm Flake

Malcolm Flake is a flavored blend in Rattray's flake line. Dark-colored slices made of Virginia, Burley, and Kentucky leaf are packed moist; opening the tin gives a pineapple-forward tropical fruit scent. Even moist it lights without difficulty, though crumbling the slices and airing them for a while makes the burn more even. The smoke lasts long, and the flavor intensifies as the bowl progresses toward the bottom. Though the flavoring is pronounced, the flake structure preserves the tobacco body; strength is medium. The Rattray name draws on the Scottish pipe-tobacco tradition; the brand's tobaccos are produced today in Germany.
