Blend

Seattle Pipe Club Down Yonder

Down Yonder is an unflavored straight Virginia blend built from a single leaf type: Virginia leaf grown in Brazil is stoved for a long time at low heat and pressed into a crumble cake. The slow stoving caramelizes the leaf's own sugar, producing a smoky sweetness; the blend delivers an unflavored tobacco taste in the same line from start to finish. The name evokes, in rural American speech, a distant place beyond the horizon and a longing for simpler times. The stoving method was one frequently used by Joe Lankford, the creator of the Seattle Pipe Club blends.
