Wilke Pipe Tobacco Continental

Continental is among Wilke Pipe Tobacco's records notable for its Latakia weight. Cyprian Latakia builds the blend's backbone; it's joined by a significant Turkish-Oriental share, with a thin Virginia layer underneath. This construction, where Latakia and Oriental override the Virginia, brings the blend closer to the Balkan style than a classic English mixture. In the flavor, burnt wood, tar, and soot lead; the Oriental leaf adds spice, dry grass, and a tart floral edge. Virginia only provides a balancing sweetness. Body and flavor intensity are high, and the room note is strong.
