Wilke No. 178, per the maker's recipe, is a Burley-centered blend built by adding a small amount of black cavendish to Tennessee Burley. The weight rests entirely on the Burley side; here the cavendish functions less as a sweetening addition and more as a helper component that softens the blend's dry, earthy structure. Burley leaf is naturally low in sugar and relatively high in nicotine, so the blend offers a full-bodied smoke that's rich in the mouth and burns cool. Flavoring is not pronounced.
