Wilke Pipe Tobacco Wilke No. 911

Wilke No. 911 is an English blend with moderate smokiness, built on a Virginia and cavendish base with added Oriental leaf and Cyprian Latakia. According to the records, the cavendish component receives a light brandy casing; this addition isn't heavy enough to push the blend into the aromatic class, functioning more as a softener that smooths the Oriental leaf's sour, floral edges. The Oriental leaf lends an earthy, herbal, lightly smoky dimension, while the Latakia supplies the wood-smoke side. The burn rate is moderate and occasional relights are needed.
