Tine Balleby

A contemporary Danish artisan, daughter of Danish master Kurt Balleby, who began making pipes in her father's workshop in 2021.

Tine Balleby is the daughter of Danish pipe maker Kurt Balleby and the second-generation representative of the same bench. Records indicate her first pipes under her own name appeared in 2021; to date this date appears only in artisan profiles and is not backed by an independent archival record. The workshop her father started in 1983 thus gained a second signature after forty years. Production is entirely handmade; each piece is shaped individually, with no series production involved.

The most practical way to recognize a Tine Balleby pipe is the mark on the top surface of the stem: a small teardrop-shaped logo in 14-karat gold. This shape was not chosen at random — it is a clear counterpart to the diamond-shaped stem stamp Kurt Balleby has used for years. The pipes of the two generations are thus distinguishable at a glance, while the continuity between them remains visible.
