Astley's No. 1 Medium Latakia Mixture

Astley's No. 1 Medium Latakia Mixture is a classic London blend sold under the name of Astley's, the pipe house on Jermyn Street in London. It contains red Virginia, Latakia, Turkish tobacco, and black Cavendish in balanced proportions. It carries no flavoring and is sold in 50-gram tins. Latakia gives the blend an earthy, smoky character, while the dominant Virginias add measured sweetness, and the black Cavendish adds a walnut-like mellowness. Body is light-to-medium, flavor intensity is medium; it burns evenly with a mild smoke temperature.
